British professional boxer Anthony Joshua held the Unified world heavyweight championship twice between 2016 and 2021.
At the regional level, he held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles from 2015 to 2016. Born in the year 1989 on October 15th, he began his boxing career in 2007 at the age of 18. This was after his alleged cousin introduced him to it.
On 11 July 2013, it was confirmed that Joshua had turned professional under the Matchroom Sports promotional banner. He initially took boxing to win medals and not for the money. The last time the great boxer fought was back in September the year 2024 against Daniel Dubois. He e lost to him during his third time attempt in becoming a three-time world champion back in Wembley. The fight showed Dubois dominate Anthony as he managed to knock him out in the fifth round.
Joshua has in total had 32 fights with 28 wins and 25 knockouts. He has made three successful defenses, and he holds the IBF and the WBO world titles. Though as much as we all awaited the bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury unfortunately the bout will have to take some steps back as Joshua announced that he is suffering an elbow injury.
He is expected to be going for surgery, which will have to put him out of the gym for about 8 to 6 weeks, then once healed and deemed able to continue with his boxing career. He will be back to feed his opponents with his wrath. As much as he craves and yearns to continue boxing, his whole future is still uncertain, and he only hopes for relief in the future.
