Clubhouse For Mike Trout’s Tiger Woods-Designed Course Must Be Seen To Believe

Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout loves his golf, and his dream is close to becoming a reality alongside Tiger Woods.

Trout is teaming up with Woods, more specifically the legendary golfer’s TGR Design company, to build Trout National — The Reserve in southern New Jersey.

The private club in Trout’s hometown of Vineyard, N.J., is getting close to its scheduled grand opening of April 2026. The course itself was completed in late 2024, and Golf.com noted play was expected to begin for members at some point in 2025.

Based on reporting from Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter, those members will have an unsurprisingly lavish clubhouse to call home.

New Look at Tiger Woods-Mike Trout Course Is Absolutely Stunning

Carpenter shared AI renderings of the facilities — including five-star lodging and a chapel — and let’s just say they aren’t exactly understated.

These renderings offer a hearty follow-up to some stunning images shared by Front Office Sports in June.

That clubhouse and property will be the centerpiece of what should be a challenging par-72 course that will play at more than 7,400 yards, according to renderings released by TGR Design.

“Undulating green complexes with low-cut surrounds will further emphasize the challenging, yet fun-focused design where risk-reward opportunities will be presented throughout the round to create an ideal match play environment,” reads the course overview on the TGR Design site.

Both Trout and Woods should have plenty of time to devote to golf starting this fall. The Angels look destined to miss the playoffs while Trout has battled injuries once again this season to go along with a mediocre performance. Considering Trout still has five years left on his contract after this season at more than $37 million per campaign, he’ll have plenty of resources to invest into his golf empire.

Tiger’s Transition to Off-Course Golf Life Continues

As for Woods, he’s recovering from an Achilles injury that cost him the entire 2025 season. Like Trout, injuries have dogged the twilight of Woods’ historic career. He has just two made cuts since the start of 2023.

Of course, that doesn’t include Woods’ indoor golf participation. He made some appearances for Jupiter Links GC during the inaugural TGL season.

At this point, his off-course work might be his most significant additions and contributions to his legacy. He and Rory McIlroy were the face of the TGL having stake in the venture and enjoyed moderate success in Year 1. On top of that, Woods has been a prominent figure behind the scenes, whether it’s PGA Tour business or even Ryder Cup dealings.

And then there is the course design and architecture work. TGR Design has its hands on more than 10 projects, and Woods looks destined to follow the paths of legends before him who have dabbled in architecture with their playing days behind them.

TGR’s stated mission is to “create enjoyable, extraordinary golf experiences that bring people together.” The design approach “not only emphasizes playability and providing a multitude of options for players of all abilities but also testing experienced players by emphasizing shot values.”

Whether Trout National satisfies those goals remains to be seen but based on what we’ve seen of the course so far, it’s going to take a pretty penny — or some extreme influence — to step foot on property anytime soon.
