Jake Paul Secures Anthony Joshua Deal Off the Radar After Losing Canelo Alvarez Fight

Jake Paul fans have reason to celebrate. Although he’s set to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. next month, following the electrifying event he headlined with Mike Tyson last November, Paul now promises to deliver another unforgettable spectacle. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the Ohio native revealed that a potential bout with Anthony Joshua is in the works for next year.

That’s major news. From fighting the youngest heavyweight champion in history, Paul then took on a former middleweight. And now he’s eyeing a match with a former unified heavyweight champion who remains active in the sport. After back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua had managed to steer his career back toward title contention, until Daniel Dubois disrupted those plans. While talks of a much-anticipated all-British showdown with Tyson Fury have circulated, they largely remain uncertain due to Fury’s retirement. A high-profile clash with a global name like Jake Paul could not only reignite Joshua’s momentum but also promise a significant payday.

As the interview wrapped up, Helwani touched on several rumored matchups. One involved former super middleweight champion and International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Carl Froch, who reportedly claimed he could take on Jake Paul with ‘one hand tied.’

So Ariel Helwani then asked, “And is Joshua a real thing in 26?” “Yeah, yeah,” responded Jake Paul before adding, “Yeah, we talked on the phone for like 10 minutes. Wow, Um, and we’re both down, and I said 2026. He was like, “All right, let’s get it.” And we’re going to make it happen. Um, so yeah, I think that’s going to be a mega fight next year and something fun to test my skills at heavyweight.

Paul nevertheless, couldn’t resist closing with a bold prediction. He ‘believes’ he can beat Anthony Joshua. So Paul reflected, “I think his chin is gone, and especially if he fights another time or two in between the end of 2026, I love Anthony. He’s always supported me. Um, I’ve always supported him, but I just do believe I can beat him in a fight.
