Earlier this week, WNBA star Angel Reese graced the cover of Vogue and shared the role both basketball and fashion play within her life. While interviewing with the magazine, she also filmed a video sharing a number of beauty secrets she swears by to look and feel her best both on and off the court.

During her conversation with Vogue editor Maya Singer, she told the publication that she has always been able to strike a balance between her two passions. “It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” she stated. “But I was a fashion girlie from young too. I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do.”

As far as her beauty secrets go, that too goes way back to her childhood for the now 22-year-old, who noted that her grandmother used to always put mascara on her lashes before her games as a child. Reese also noted that her penchant for being dolled up before games was how she got her nickname “Bayou Barbie,” as she always had her nails, lashes and hair done.

Here are some additional excerpts from the interview:

On her pre-game routine

“I don’t do too much on the court. That’s my thing: Normalizing being able to be super girly and super cute but also be a dog on the court.”

On Korean brand Laneige

“I don’t go nowhere without my Laneige. I have all of [the Laneige lip products]. I have the Sleeping Mask. I keep my Laneige on the bench. That’s the key. Whenever I get back to the bench [during] time-outs, the Laneige is on.”

On the importance of using blush in her makeup routine

“I’m a blush freak. You’re gonna see my blush from down the block, and that’s just my thing.”

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese turned a lot of heads after fans spotted her in the latest video shared by Unrivaled.

Unrivaled, the newest 3-on-3 basketball league founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, is set to kick off its inaugural season on Jan. 17. That being said, the players and coaches have all gathered up in Miami in preparation for the tournament.

On Friday, the league posted a video of the players arriving in Miami. As the players greeted each other and met the coaches, what caught the attention of many was Reese sharing a hug with Teresa Weatherspoon.

As many WNBA fans would know, Weatherspoon was Reese’s head coach with the Sky during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, following an abysmal 13-27 campaign, Chicago decided to part ways with her.

“The Angel and Tspoon clip! Whoever got that is just too good. Love this marketing and BTS! Looks amazing, love this for the ladies, they deserve it!” a commenter wrote.

Another one said, “Aweee tspoon.”

“No matter what Angel will find Coach TSpoon,” a supporter added. “Not angel and spoon being reunited oh my gosh please don’t make me cry again.”

Several others simply wrote “Angel and Spoon” and similar variations, further highlighting how the reunion between the two really stood out.

While Teresa Weatherspoon won’t be coaching Angel Reese in Unrivaled—with Spoon handling Vinyl BC while Reese is part of Rose BC—seeing the two interact and show how much they missed each other was certainly a treat for many.

Angel Reese has landed in a major controversy after posting bold New Year’s Eve outfit.

The Chicago Sky player also got candid about feeling uncomfortable when fans approach her at gas stations.

In a viral clip, the 22-year-old confessed, “See, this is why I don’t like going to the gas station, ’cause people always roll up on my car.”

Angel added, “That was a little scary. Especially the world we’re living in right now-people get killed every day. I was a lil scared cause people be acting crazy when I am at the gas station.”

She made her United States national team debut at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in Mexico.

Angel Reese deletes Instagram account:

After receiving backlash on her bold choice of clothing, Angel Reese deleted her Instagram account.

Since her Instagram account is no longer accessible, her fans could not help but wonder what made her take this drastic decision.

A conservative commentator Tomi Lahren called Angel’s a stunt for attention.

“She wore that and posted that so people would talk about her because she doesn’t want people talking about Caitlin Clark,” he said.

Notably, Angel’s TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) accounts are still active.

WNBA star Angel Reese faces backlash, resulting in her deleting her Instagram.

The Chicago Sky forward has had an impressive run from starting a viral podcast in 2024 to her stunning style evolution. Although she’s known for handling issues classily, it appears Reese has hit her wits end — and understandably, if so.

After sharing her New Year’s Eve outfit on Instagram, the WNBA star faced incessant backlash in the comments. The dress was none other than that viral dress circulating on TikTok (see below). Shortly after, Reese deleted her Instagram page. Since, headlines referring to her clothing as “ultra-revealing.”

The move shows just how negatively shaming impacts women — yet according to headlines, people still haven’t learned. From the 2024 Olympics to the music industry and beyond, people are becoming more unapologetic with shaming women.

Unfortunately, it appears to be a holiday trend to shame women. SZA also recently responded to body shamers on Twitter highlighting a repulsive trend of people still commenting on women’s bodies. In 2024, Keke Palmer was publicly shamed, as well.

In other news, the GOAT Simone Biles may not compete in the 208 LA Olympics. Here’s why. Elsewhere, Bad Bunny releases a short film for his upcoming album.

WNBA star Angel Reese closed out 2024 by breaking the internet with an incredibly stunning selfie.

Reese, the No. 7 pick from the 2024 WNBA Draft, had an excellent rookie season with the Chicago Sky. The national champion from LSU averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, earning All-Star honors in the process. If she wasn’t in the same draft class as Caitlin Clark, she most likely would’ve been named Rookie of the Year. Nonetheless, she still has an awful lot to be proud of.

Angel Reese certainly knows how to make a fit statement as she saved her best look of 2024 for last.

The Chicago Sky All-Star and double-double queen had quite the year with her different looks from her Wild ‘n Out bootylicious slay, to her jaw-dropping Poison Ivy Halloween costume where she was painted fully green, to riding a camel in Dubai while hilariously wearing a luxury fit.

The 22-year-old Reese hit Miami where she will participate in the new 3×3 Unrivaled league in January for the Rose Basketball Club. From there, she dropped her boldest and best fit of the year with a skimpy stunner selfie on New Year’s Eve.

That’s Bad Barbie right there. There’s a reason Rihanna wanted to pose for a picture with Reese in 2024. That’s a South Beach-worthy look if there ever was one — that fit may carry over and win 2025 as well.

Reese certainly knows how to enjoy herself in December. On Christmas, she went “Big Mama” with her tiny shorts and danced around.

It’s been an amazing year of fashion for Angel Reese, but she came through before the buzzer in 2024 with the year winner.

During a new episode of her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ the Chicago Sky star gives Caitlin Clark major praise about her shooting abilities.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have had one of the most exciting rivalries in the WNBA over the past year. However, both players have shown mutual respect for each other on several occasions. Recently, the Chicago Sky star praised Clark as one of the best shooters in the league.

On a recent episode of her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ comedian Funny Marco, who is a big WNBA fan, asked her to name the best shooters in the league. “Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi…,” she responded, before consulting Marco, who also suggested Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu.

In terms of three-point shooting last season, Clark excelled with a 34.4% accuracy, closely followed by Taurasi at 33.3% and Ionescu at 33.2%. Stewart, despite her championship pedigree, experienced her lowest three-point shooting percentage, connecting on just 29.5% of her attempts.

Once again, Reese proves that between her and Clark there’s nothing but respect. Recently, the Chicago Sky forward and the Indiana Fever guard opened up about their rivalry, and what they think of the narratives from the media.

Clark said that she didn’t “get” the obsession with their relationship. “We’re not best friends by any means, but we’re very respectful of one another. Yes, we have had tremendous battles. But when have I ever guarded her? And when has she guarded me?,” she told Time. While Reese said that they don’t have “hard feelings” for each other.

Clark praises Reese’s rebounding

Clark has previously expressed admiration for Reese, specifically highlighting her offensive rebounding prowess. Earlier this year, Clark stated (via The Mirror): “The thing that really stands out is the offensive rebounding. She did the exact same thing to us when we were in college too.

“She’s just such a great offensive rebounder. She’s always just had a knack for that. It’s not always something you can teach. I think she just has a really good eye for the ball off the rim and can go get it.”

While Clark successfully guided the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016, Reese’s team, the Sky, faced a challenging season, finishing with a disappointing 13-27 record.

Let us go back to 2012 when the police in the city of Mildura, Victoria (Australia) had to issue a warning. Apple’s iOS 6 service had incorrectly listed Mildura as being in the middle of Murray Sunset National Park. This left several motorists stranded in the Australian Outback. They were left in the middle of nowhere—3,000 square miles of Australian bush that had poisonous snakes and insects. They had very little water or mobile reception and some of them were helpless for 24 hours.

Well, the company has surely worked on its maps over the years, which has been much better. However, Angel Reese knows it can be much better. Hear it from her!

“Apple maps please get it together. I’m driving and the navigation is jumping all over the place 😭🤣🥲” she posted on X. When Steve Jobs resigned his post as the CEO of Apple and Tim Cook took over in August 2011, there were some obvious reservations about the new leadership.

In 2024, perhaps most can say that Cook has done his job well, but for Angel Reese, the Apple maps still aren’t the best. Although Cook’s first order of business as the new boss was to release the iPhone 4s, on Sept. 19, 2012, Apple also launched its navigation app for the iOS 6 update. And it was a disaster.

In 2012, the gap in technology was addressed by Cook and his team. A statement was issued: “With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.”

“While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app,” he had added.

Some even criticized the CEO for hurriedly releasing the Apple Maps feature when it wasn’t ready, citing how Steve Jobs would have focused on the user experience more than anything. Although there have been solutions to the navigation issue, the problem never seems to have been 100% fixed. It’s not as if Google Maps, their direct competitor, is completely problem-free.

But while there was a time when Google ruled, Apple has now allowed non-users to access a beta version of Apple Maps in the Chrome and Edge browsers on Windows. While Google Maps first hit one billion users back in June 2012, just before their competitor’s version launched, Apple has grown in that time as well through the sheer amount of updates.

Angel Reese

Clearly, Reese has so far preferred Apple Maps, but she might just move on to Google if this continues! While Jobs’ brainchild provides quality products, the maps still have some problems in 2024.

Apple maps and the problems that users have been facing in 2024…

The company’s maps have encountered problems such as freezing and lagging, which left many users frustrated. Think about crashes, glitches, errors, and unresponsive maps. It seems Angel Reese experienced a similar problem. Is there any solution available for this?

Well, as per ‘My GPS Tools’, users may have to check the internet speed for such problems. Apple Maps uses on stable and fast internet connection to show the maps and help users navigate efficiently. If the connection isn’t working properly, the app will start lagging or freezing and the performance won’t be great.

And if the app keeps crashing, users can identify and address errors using diagnostic apps. While issues persist, Apple Maps has made some great changes as well. For instance, they have tried to make the guidance feel more natural by using human-sounding phrases. Think: “Go past the light and make a left,” instead of “In 300 yards, turn left.”

Additionally, Apple also handles route instructions differently for urban and rural roads as well as for highways and local streets.

Angel Reese has been making waves since her time at LSU, not only for her impressive performances but also for the strong personal brand she’s built. The Chicago star is known for speaking out on important issues, even launching her own podcast in September to create a platform for her voice. Recently, however, she brought attention back to an old message while staying quiet about a new drama surrounding her.

The Sky forward re-shared a tweet she posted back in April, which simply said, “protect young women in sports!!!” While the message was brief, Reese’s decision to bring it up again after eight months leaves many wondering what prompted her to resurface this statement now.

A role model for young girls, Reese’s message seems to coincide with internet personality Charleston White’s offensive remark about her during his appearance on Jeff Teague’s podcast. The Chicago Sky star, however, has been silent on the instance so far.

However, the ‘Chi-Town Barbie’ has consistently shown her support for empowering young girls in the past. Earlier in an exclusive with People, the 22-year-old shared some great advice for young girls balancing their love for sports and the entertainment industry.

“It’s okay to do both, and know that women don’t have to be put into a box where they have to do one specific thing.” Reese had told People. In fact, she has also mentioned how motivating the younger generation keeps her going, which is why she  started a foundation dedicated to empowerment.

Angel Reese reflects on her responsibility as a role model

Angel Reese

During a September practice with the Chicago Sky, Reese opened up about what it’s like to be an inspiration for young girls. She shared how it feels to be in the spotlight and talked about the responsibilities that come with being a role model.

“It gives me an expression to keep going every day. I mean, every day is not gonna be easy but just being able to wake up but somebody is looking at me, somebody is looking at my social media. Like, how can I be here be one day. So, that’s why I try to be as positive as I can all the time and just being there for people. I just remember when I was younger, had people, but not many pros to look up to that I can actually connect with. So, I wanna be that person that they wanna connect a lot too,” Reese had shared.

After winning the NCAA championship with LSU, Reese announced the launch of the Angel C. Reese Foundation. The foundation focuses on empowering girls and women through sports, education, financial literacy, and more. She shared that the goal behind starting her foundation was to create equal opportunities for young women, especially in areas where they’ve often been overlooked.

Her foundation aims to provide equal opportunities for young women and underrepresented groups through various initiatives. These include programs designed to tackle systemic challenges and resources that empower the next generation of girls to thrive in sports and successfully navigate life beyond.

Reese continues to inspire and empower young women, showing how sports, education, and leadership can create a brighter future. However, the reason behind her recent message still remains unclear.

On September 29, Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese was spotted attending the Baltimore Ravens’ NFL home game against the Buffalo Bills and had a wholesome interaction with one of the Ravens’ best players.

Reigning NFL MVP and Ravens franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson was elite that day, throwing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 54 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown in what ended up being a 35-10 win for Baltimore.

Perhaps Reese (who is a Maryland native and appears to be a Ravens fan) was inspired by this fantastic performance from Jackson. Then again, given his comments during an interview with ESSENCE that was released on December 25, it might have been Jackson who was inspired by Reese that day.

When ESSENCE Sports host Sharí Nycole asked Jackson what women’s sports he’s excited about right now, Jackson said, “Basketball, the WNBA”.

He then discussed how he hasn’t always been a women’s basketball fan but has recently become so. Jackson later added, “Now, on a high level, I’m seeing Angel Reese, I’m seeing Caitlin [Clark], I’m seeing all these girls just go crazy now. It’s inspiring. Other girls can grow up and play basketball… they can play basketball, play some sports.”

Jackson then reiterated, “Women’s sports is going crazy right now, and I’m inspired by it.”

It’s cool to hear one of football’s biggest and most successful superstars giving his flowers to Reese, Clark, and the rest of the WNBA in what has been a banner year for the entire sport of women’s basketball.
