During a new episode of her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ the Chicago Sky star gives Caitlin Clark major praise about her shooting abilities.

  • WNBA champion Sydney Colson slams former NBA player over Angel Reese’s comments

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have had one of the most exciting rivalries in the WNBA over the past year. However, both players have shown mutual respect for each other on several occasions. Recently, the Chicago Sky star praised Clark as one of the best shooters in the league.

On a recent episode of her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ comedian Funny Marco, who is a big WNBA fan, asked her to name the best shooters in the league. “Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi…,” she responded, before consulting Marco, who also suggested Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu.

In terms of three-point shooting last season, Clark excelled with a 34.4% accuracy, closely followed by Taurasi at 33.3% and Ionescu at 33.2%. Stewart, despite her championship pedigree, experienced her lowest three-point shooting percentage, connecting on just 29.5% of her attempts.

Once again, Reese proves that between her and Clark there’s nothing but respect. Recently, the Chicago Sky forward and the Indiana Fever guard opened up about their rivalry, and what they think of the narratives from the media.

Clark said that she didn’t “get” the obsession with their relationship. “We’re not best friends by any means, but we’re very respectful of one another. Yes, we have had tremendous battles. But when have I ever guarded her? And when has she guarded me?,” she told Time. While Reese said that they don’t have “hard feelings” for each other.

Clark praises Reese’s rebounding

Clark has previously expressed admiration for Reese, specifically highlighting her offensive rebounding prowess. Earlier this year, Clark stated (via The Mirror): “The thing that really stands out is the offensive rebounding. She did the exact same thing to us when we were in college too.

“She’s just such a great offensive rebounder. She’s always just had a knack for that. It’s not always something you can teach. I think she just has a really good eye for the ball off the rim and can go get it.”

While Clark successfully guided the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016, Reese’s team, the Sky, faced a challenging season, finishing with a disappointing 13-27 record.

Let us go back to 2012 when the police in the city of Mildura, Victoria (Australia) had to issue a warning. Apple’s iOS 6 service had incorrectly listed Mildura as being in the middle of Murray Sunset National Park. This left several motorists stranded in the Australian Outback. They were left in the middle of nowhere—3,000 square miles of Australian bush that had poisonous snakes and insects. They had very little water or mobile reception and some of them were helpless for 24 hours.

Well, the company has surely worked on its maps over the years, which has been much better. However, Angel Reese knows it can be much better. Hear it from her!

“Apple maps please get it together. I’m driving and the navigation is jumping all over the place 😭🤣🥲” she posted on X. When Steve Jobs resigned his post as the CEO of Apple and Tim Cook took over in August 2011, there were some obvious reservations about the new leadership.

In 2024, perhaps most can say that Cook has done his job well, but for Angel Reese, the Apple maps still aren’t the best. Although Cook’s first order of business as the new boss was to release the iPhone 4s, on Sept. 19, 2012, Apple also launched its navigation app for the iOS 6 update. And it was a disaster.

In 2012, the gap in technology was addressed by Cook and his team. A statement was issued: “With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.”

“While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app,” he had added.

Some even criticized the CEO for hurriedly releasing the Apple Maps feature when it wasn’t ready, citing how Steve Jobs would have focused on the user experience more than anything. Although there have been solutions to the navigation issue, the problem never seems to have been 100% fixed. It’s not as if Google Maps, their direct competitor, is completely problem-free.

But while there was a time when Google ruled, Apple has now allowed non-users to access a beta version of Apple Maps in the Chrome and Edge browsers on Windows. While Google Maps first hit one billion users back in June 2012, just before their competitor’s version launched, Apple has grown in that time as well through the sheer amount of updates.

Angel Reese

Clearly, Reese has so far preferred Apple Maps, but she might just move on to Google if this continues! While Jobs’ brainchild provides quality products, the maps still have some problems in 2024.

Apple maps and the problems that users have been facing in 2024…

The company’s maps have encountered problems such as freezing and lagging, which left many users frustrated. Think about crashes, glitches, errors, and unresponsive maps. It seems Angel Reese experienced a similar problem. Is there any solution available for this?

Well, as per ‘My GPS Tools’, users may have to check the internet speed for such problems. Apple Maps uses on stable and fast internet connection to show the maps and help users navigate efficiently. If the connection isn’t working properly, the app will start lagging or freezing and the performance won’t be great.

And if the app keeps crashing, users can identify and address errors using diagnostic apps. While issues persist, Apple Maps has made some great changes as well. For instance, they have tried to make the guidance feel more natural by using human-sounding phrases. Think: “Go past the light and make a left,” instead of “In 300 yards, turn left.”

Additionally, Apple also handles route instructions differently for urban and rural roads as well as for highways and local streets.

Angel Reese has been making waves since her time at LSU, not only for her impressive performances but also for the strong personal brand she’s built. The Chicago star is known for speaking out on important issues, even launching her own podcast in September to create a platform for her voice. Recently, however, she brought attention back to an old message while staying quiet about a new drama surrounding her.

The Sky forward re-shared a tweet she posted back in April, which simply said, “protect young women in sports!!!” While the message was brief, Reese’s decision to bring it up again after eight months leaves many wondering what prompted her to resurface this statement now.

A role model for young girls, Reese’s message seems to coincide with internet personality Charleston White’s offensive remark about her during his appearance on Jeff Teague’s podcast. The Chicago Sky star, however, has been silent on the instance so far.

However, the ‘Chi-Town Barbie’ has consistently shown her support for empowering young girls in the past. Earlier in an exclusive with People, the 22-year-old shared some great advice for young girls balancing their love for sports and the entertainment industry.

“It’s okay to do both, and know that women don’t have to be put into a box where they have to do one specific thing.” Reese had told People. In fact, she has also mentioned how motivating the younger generation keeps her going, which is why she  started a foundation dedicated to empowerment.

Angel Reese reflects on her responsibility as a role model

Angel Reese

During a September practice with the Chicago Sky, Reese opened up about what it’s like to be an inspiration for young girls. She shared how it feels to be in the spotlight and talked about the responsibilities that come with being a role model.

“It gives me an expression to keep going every day. I mean, every day is not gonna be easy but just being able to wake up but somebody is looking at me, somebody is looking at my social media. Like, how can I be here be one day. So, that’s why I try to be as positive as I can all the time and just being there for people. I just remember when I was younger, had people, but not many pros to look up to that I can actually connect with. So, I wanna be that person that they wanna connect a lot too,” Reese had shared.

After winning the NCAA championship with LSU, Reese announced the launch of the Angel C. Reese Foundation. The foundation focuses on empowering girls and women through sports, education, financial literacy, and more. She shared that the goal behind starting her foundation was to create equal opportunities for young women, especially in areas where they’ve often been overlooked.

Her foundation aims to provide equal opportunities for young women and underrepresented groups through various initiatives. These include programs designed to tackle systemic challenges and resources that empower the next generation of girls to thrive in sports and successfully navigate life beyond.

Reese continues to inspire and empower young women, showing how sports, education, and leadership can create a brighter future. However, the reason behind her recent message still remains unclear.

On September 29, Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese was spotted attending the Baltimore Ravens’ NFL home game against the Buffalo Bills and had a wholesome interaction with one of the Ravens’ best players.

Reigning NFL MVP and Ravens franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson was elite that day, throwing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 54 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown in what ended up being a 35-10 win for Baltimore.

Perhaps Reese (who is a Maryland native and appears to be a Ravens fan) was inspired by this fantastic performance from Jackson. Then again, given his comments during an interview with ESSENCE that was released on December 25, it might have been Jackson who was inspired by Reese that day.

When ESSENCE Sports host Sharí Nycole asked Jackson what women’s sports he’s excited about right now, Jackson said, “Basketball, the WNBA”.

He then discussed how he hasn’t always been a women’s basketball fan but has recently become so. Jackson later added, “Now, on a high level, I’m seeing Angel Reese, I’m seeing Caitlin [Clark], I’m seeing all these girls just go crazy now. It’s inspiring. Other girls can grow up and play basketball… they can play basketball, play some sports.”

Jackson then reiterated, “Women’s sports is going crazy right now, and I’m inspired by it.”

It’s cool to hear one of football’s biggest and most successful superstars giving his flowers to Reese, Clark, and the rest of the WNBA in what has been a banner year for the entire sport of women’s basketball.

Wedding on the Books for Angel Reese as Witty 2025 Prediction Leaves WNBA Star Speechless

As the new year approaches and fans turn their attention to the season ahead, Angel Reese is already making waves—not just on the court but in her personal life too. With another high-octane year ahead, Reese has found herself at the intersection of sports and romance, with a stunning prediction taking center stage. And, true to form, it has all the makings of a buzzer-beater moment.

In a recent post on Snapchat, Reese shared a witty moment when a filter predicted, as its very first, that 2025 would be the year of her wedding. The forecast, delivered with the usual flair of social media fun, left the WNBA star utterly speechless.

But as the year draws to a close, one can’t help but wonder if this prediction is a lighthearted jest or something more significant. The timing, in particular, adds an extra layer of intrigue.

Just two weeks before this Snapchat moment, Reese had opened up about love and relationships on her podcast Unapologetically Angel, making the playful prediction seem all the more fitting.

During the episode, Reese sat down with rapper Sexyy Red to discuss their differing views on love and marriage. The conversation kicked off with a simple yet profound question that had been weighing on Reese’s mind “So you ever think you going to get married?

Sexyy Red, known for her unapologetic and no-nonsense approach to life, didn’t hesitate to voice her skepticism about marriage. “I mean, you can sign a piece of paper and still cheat,” she responded, sharing her jaded view from past experiences.

I know men that be cheating too. That’s why I ain’t got no hope for it,” she added, revealing her deep mistrust of men’s ability to remain faithful.

As the clock ticks down on 2024, and with the new year just around the corner, Angel Reese is gearing up for what could be a game-changing year—not just on the court, but in her personal life too. While Sexyy Red may have written off love as a losing game, Reese remains steadfast, holding onto the ball of hope, ready to take a shot at true love.

Reese stays hopeful about love as Snapchat filter predicts 2025 wedding

Angel Reese

Reese, however, wasn’t so quick to give up on the idea of true love. She firmly believed that despite Red’s reservations, there was still hope for finding a loyal partner. “That’s why you find a good man, good, he’s a good man,” Reese asserted, emphasizing that faith and hope were critical in any relationship.

Back in 2023, Reese opened up about her relationship with a fellow basketball athlete Cam’Ron Fletcher. Many thought the two would last. Alas, the house of cards came down as quickly as it made it to the internet. Although denying any attachment with others, the Sky No. 5 is clearly keeping her hopes up for a future romance.

Even in the face of Red’s disillusionment, Reese held onto her belief that a committed relationship could exist. “You just got to believe and have hope and have faith. Faith is good,” she said, offering a refreshing dose of optimism.

As the conversation progressed, Reese continued to challenge Red’s outlook on relationships, pushing her to explain why she had such little faith in men. “Why you say that?” Reese asked, pressing Red to reveal more about her cynicism.

Red’s frustration was evident, her skepticism about loyalty and commitment clear. But Reese remained steadfast in her hopeful vision of romance. “You’re going to run across your knight in shining armor, and he’s going to take you and lift you off your feet,” she said, painting a picture of a love that transcends Red’s experience.

With this candid discussion on relationships and the playful wedding prediction made by the Snapchat filter, Reese’s year is shaping up to be filled with both on-court and off-court excitement.

Whether the 2025 wedding is a serious reality or just a fun piece of social media humor, one thing is for sure: Angel Reese’s journey will be one to watch closely. With her infectious optimism and unwavering belief in true love, the year ahead promises to be a thrilling ride for both her personal and professional life.

It is almost a wrap on the glorious year. The 2024 rookie class made a historic debut, New York won its first-ever title, women’s basketball saw new heights, and the players — active and former — end the year laid back, with love, and some words of advice.

From celebrated coach Dawn Staley to college phenom Flau’Jae Johnson, love was a common theme, but twists to the celebrations, they had their own. Here’s how:

Angel Reese

The journey from Bayou Barbie to Chi-town Barbie hasn’t been easy for 22-year-old Maryland native Angel Reese. Yet, she shined in her debut WNBA season. On and off the court, Reese was a standout, averaging nearly 13 points and 13 rebounds per game, marking her place in history with the highest double-double streak as a rookie. She is all set to take over at Unrivaled soon, already making it to Miami and back in the gym.

But taking a quick turn, Reese claims to have had a wonderful Christmas. “this christmas was sooo good <3 #blessedgirl,” she wrote, after sending out wishes and before revealing she also had some time to enjoy a nice healthy meal alongside a glass of wine.

She was also spotted courtside at an Orlando Magic game in a black dress, adorned by fur for the sleeves and the shoulder. Hours later, she was at home, comfortable in her green checkered pajamas and dancing with her dog Tiago, with “Big Mama” emblazoned on the back.

Flau’Jae Johnson

For Angel Reese’s friend and former teammate Flau’Jae Johnson, Christmas was just as special. After a busy year at LSU, Flau’Jae took a break from basketball and rapping to focus on love. Dressed in holiday red, she shared a picture with her boyfriend, Chris Hilton Jr., both wearing matching festive pajamas, captioning it “Santa Listened” with a red heart. Fans couldn’t get enough of this holiday power couple.

Dawn Staley

Dawn Staley had a remarkable 2024, capturing moments with Olympians across various sports and leading the South Carolina Gamecocks to an impressive 11-1 record. Celebrating their first back-to-back championship title, Staley didn’t miss the chance to spread holiday cheer. She tweeted, “Merriest Christmas to you all!” and reminded everyone to be kind and non-judgmental.

“As we open our gifts, let’s not forget the gift of being a loving, caring, and non-judging human being. Let’s keep spreading it…or let’s start spreading it! Blessings to you all!” Staley’s message resonated, especially with players who often face criticism. What else would have been the perfect occasion for spreading message?

Haley Cavinder

The Cavinder twins never fail to create buzz on social media. This Christmas, Haley and her sister wore matching short cut-out dresses. Haley opted for a golden glittery dress paired with long black boots and loose waves in her hair, all while flashing a broad smile. “Merry Christmas” read her caption.

The twins shared snaps of their holiday meals, their three dogs, and even a photo with their mom and a friend, completing their Christmas celebration.

Katie Lou Samuelson

Indiana Fever standout Katie Lou Samuelson had a delightful Christmas in Greece. Married to an American professional basketball player, she spent the holiday with her husband and their little daughter. “Took a few Elfies today 😉🤣 Merry Christmas from Greece 🎄❤️🥰” she captioned, sharing family glimpses and showcasing their tight bond.

Napheesa Collier

Napheesa Collier also cherished Christmas with her family. She stunned in a green bodycon dress paired with white blingy heels, matching her husband’s green sweater. Their daughter looked equally adorable in a green skirt and white stockings. “Merry Christmas from our family to yours 🎄🎁” she captioned. The family of three also wore matching pajamas, spreading holiday cheer.

Breanna Stewart

The holidays cannot be merrier for Breanna Stewart especially after winning 2024 WNBA championship trophy. To make it more special, she along with her wife, Marta Xargay embraced the holiday spirit, dressing in red co-ord sets along with their two children.

Merry Christmas from the Stewart Xargay family! Slide 1 vs 3: Instagram vs reality trying to get a family photo ❤️🎄” Stewart wrote, sharing their joyful family moments, as their youngest failed to sit still in the final slide.

Cameron Brink

Cameron Brink kept her Christmas celebration elegant yet simple, donning a black turtleneck paired with a fur-laden skirt and matching stilettos. Her caption, “All I want for Christmas is a healthy knee😇” highlighted her anticipation to return to the court after an ACL injury in June.

Chiney Ogwumike

Chiney Ogwumike who transitioned smoothly from the basketball court to being an ESPN analyst, had a glamorous Christmas. She celebrated the festival at the White House, wearing a glittering golden dress and sharing her joy with the world. “A White House Holiday” she tweeted, looking impressive as ever. But as a basketball fan, she also gushed over the day bringing a matchup between LeBron James and Stephen Curry. “It doesn’t get better than LeBron and Steph ballin out on Christmas Day!!!” she exclaimed.

Candace Parker

Former player Candace Parker enjoyed a family-themed Christmas, with the Parker family dressed in black and white. Even the youngest member, Summit Petrakova Parker, looked adorable in the matching outfit and a huge smile. “Merry Christmas from the Parkers ❤️❤️” she captioned, sharing their festive joy.

Sydney Colson

Las Vegas Aces standout Sydney Colson indeed had a merry Christmas, celebrated by AU Pro Basketball — where she is set to return in 2025 — who posted a tribute on Twitter. She was featured in a fun collage as “one of the faces of the league,” making for an adorable holiday card.

For some of these, it is a brief break before the Unrivaled begins about mind-January. Seems to emit calm before the storm.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese addressed claims that she doesn’t post “enough” about the WNBA in the latest episode of her podcast.

  • WNBA News: Chicago Sky’s new hire could be key to Angel Reese’s development
  • Magic Johnson compares Clark and Reese’s rivalry to his iconic battle with Larry Bird

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese addressed accusations questioning her commitment to her WNBA career during the latest episode of her podcast, Unapologetically Angel. Joined by her manager, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, Reese used the platform to respond directly to the criticism.

Reese has a strong online presence, sharing updates about her activities and commercial commitments, as well as expressing her opinions on various matters. However, some fans feel she doesn’t talk enough about basketball.

“People are like, ‘Angel, how come you don’t post basketball stuff?’” Reese said. “The thing is, why do I have to post in the gym? What about the other 143 women in the WNBA who don’t post they’re in the gym? I think it’s because I live a double life,” she explained, referencing her numerous commitments outside of basketball.

Her manager was quick to highlight Reese’s dedication. “We had a shoot this week, and Angel called me like, ‘What’s my call time? I’m booking a workout,’” Ogbonnaya recalled. “She’s waking up at 5 a.m. to work out before the shoot. We know where her priorities are.”

Angel Reese

Ogbonnaya continued, pointing to Reese’s standout rookie season with the Chicago Sky“Obviously when you’re on the court, it shows where your priorities are. Because people didn’t think that you were going to be able to be as dominant as you were in the WNBA and what you did this season, as a rookie. But, it doesn’t matter, at the end of the day it is engagement.”

New Sky coach looks to elevate Reese in year two

As Reese prepares for her second WNBA season, she’ll first take part in the inaugural season of the 3v3 league Unrivaled, spearheaded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. However, new Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh has already outlined plans to help Reese take her game to the next level.

Speaking to Fox News about Reese and fellow young standout Kamilla Cardoso, Marsh emphasized the importance of building a roster that complements their talents. “I’m excited to put pieces around them that highlight their strengths and to start building a strong culture moving forward,” he said.

The Sky will tip off their season on the road against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever. With Reese and Clark among the league’s most-followed stars, the matchup promises to be a thrilling opener to the new WNBA season.

Record numbers of basketball fans filled arenas to watch the rookie seasons of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese unfold. Simone Biles captivated the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Coco Gauff made women’s tennis history.

It was all part of a pivotal year for women in sports, financially and culturally, and after a steady rise in popularity and reach in recent years, the women’s game is more valuable than ever.

“(Clark)’s just moved the needle of the global movement of women in sports,” said softball great and Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch, “and what a thrill it’s been to be able to see her rise.”

The consulting firm Deloitte estimated in November 2023 that women’s sports would generate more than $1 billion in global revenue this year for the first time ever, which the company said is up about 300% from its last estimate in 2021. Skyrocketing viewership and corporate sponsorships were major factors.

The WNBA in July signed a historic 11-year media rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime and NBC valued at about $200 million — a jump from about $60 million currently. Players hope higher salaries and a greater share of revenue could be on the horizon as parity, star power and competition in the WNBA continue to grow.

The WNBA had its most-watched regular season in 24 years and best attendance in 22 seasons, and commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a recent state-of-the-league address that players are getting a lot more marketing deals, turning them into household names. That includes Las Vegas star A’ja Wilson, who had one of the most dominant seasons in WNBA history, and Clark, who set numerous rookie records.

The decisive Game 5 of the WNBA finals between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx drew an average of 2.2 million viewers, peaking at 3.3 million, which made it the most-watched WNBA game in 25 years.

“We’ve been growing in popularity, endorsements, media rights, all of those things,” said Amira Rose Davis, a sports historian and assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin.

“This period is one of rapid acceleration,” Davis continued, “where all that growth seems to switch into overdrive, where the deals are getting bigger, where the visibility is stretching out.”

Clark, the sharp-shooting Indiana guard became a phenomenon when she played at Iowa, capitalized on a foundation laid by hoops stars such as Diana Taurasi, Candace Parker and Wilson, and turbocharged the visibility of women’s basketball.

Ticket sales to Indiana Fever games were up 182% in 2024 from the previous season. The Fever also shattered the attendance record of 13,398 set by the Liberty in 1998 with around 16,084 tickets sold per game. And games featuring Clark and her on-court rival Reese of the Chicago Sky prompted social media debates about basketball, race and culture.

“Something that I always tried to do with me was rise and elevate the game,” said Finch, now an adviser for the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. “And that’s what (Clark)’s doing and her teammates. And just to be able to watch her do it and how humbly she does it, and the impact of not only domestic women’s basketball, but women’s athletics globally. It’s a dream.”

While many point to the WNBA as a blueprint for success in women’s sports, accomplishments in 2024 went far beyond one league or athlete.

Gauff, the 20-year-old tennis superstar, was the world’s highest-paid female athlete this year with $30.4 million in earnings, according to Sportico rankings. Gauff could not defend her 2023 U.S. Open title, but ended her 2024 season with a WTA finals title and a $4.8 million check — the biggest payout ever for a women’s tennis event, per Sportico.

The Olympics neared complete gender parity for the first time among the more than 11,000 men and women who competed in Paris this summer.

More than 34 million people across all NBC platforms in the U.S. watched Biles exorcise the demons of her surprising exit from the Tokyo games three years earlier. The 27-year-old shared a message of resilience and redemption as she added four gold medals to her resume. Nearly everything she did in Paris made headlines — a clap back at social media trolls, a revelation about her mental health, a moment of triumph. Her TikTok showing Team USA’s gold medals from team competition has more than 139 million views.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese and Simone Biles

“She became a symbol,” Davis said. “Whether you wanted to symbolize her as persevering, or talking about mental health or refusal, the politics of refusal. Or (whether) you wanted to symbolize her as being a quitter — being everything that you’re bemoaning about the country. Either way, both projections elevated her even more.”

And as Gauff and Biles soared, other women’s leagues leveraged that visibility.

The Pro Women’s Hockey League brought in 392,259 fans during its inaugural regular season, highlighted by a women’s hockey record crowd of 21,105 at the home arena of the NHL’s Canadiens for a Montreal-Toronto matchup. The league also reached sponsorship deals with Scotiabank, Air Canada and Hyundai.

The PWHL’s strong first season showed its organizers and players that there’s an appetite for women’s sports, so much so that there are hopes to expand from six to eight teams in 2025.

“For many of us that have been in the game for so long, it’s emotional to think about where the game’s come from, where we’ve come to,” said Jayna Hefford, the league’s senior vice president of hockey operations. “We spend a lot of time reading research and all these things that suggest the time is now and that the fandom is there. And to be able to live that and feel it in real time was pretty special.”

Keith Stein and Justine Siegal want to capitalize on the women’s sports landscape too.

Siegal, a former baseball player and coach, partnered with Stein, a lawyer and businessman, to create the Women’s Pro Baseball League, which last month announced plans to launch in 2026 as a six-team circuit for female players. It will be the first pro league for women since the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League dissolved in 1954.

“Leagues like the WNBA and (National) Women’s Soccer League have done a lot of the heavy lifting,” Stein said, “and they’re part responsible for the moment we’re having right now where women’s sport is a phenomenon.

“I think there’s, in some ways, a lot more momentum behind the development of professional women’s sports leagues than for men’s.”

LeBron James, Angel Reese, and Mike Tyson were among the star athletes who shared festive social media posts on Christmas Day.

The sports world has been flooded with everything from holiday tunes to dinner spreads and family pictures from stars across different disciplines.

In a Christmas promo for his ear-shaped cannabis-infused chews, Tyson starred in a commercial with Evander Holyfield who he infamously bit during their 1997 fight.

In the video, Iron Mike gifts his former rival a bag of the product saying ‘I got you your ear [in] cherry pie punch flavor.’ The two then argued over the taste of Holyfield’s ear before Tyson eventually won the exchange.

‘Happy Holidays!’ he wrote in the caption.

WNBA star Angel Reese posted a photo of her puppy Tiago King wearing a Santa hat on her Instagram story, writing ‘Merry Christmas from TT.’

Another basketball star, LeBron James, shared a throwback post from ESPN showing him on Christmas morning when he was three.

The picture shows a young King James holding a basketball in front of a kiddie hoop set. He was also surrounded by other presents in front of their Christmas tree.

James then pointed out another detail with his caption, writing ‘Iykyk [TV] on top of the [TV].’

Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia posted a photo of a tablet as he listened to ‘Noah’s Journey’ from The Notebook’s original soundtrack.

Angel Reese

‘Merry Christmas eve,’ Garcia wrote.

Patrick Mahomes and Cristiano Ronaldo greeted their fans with portraits of their families. The Kansas City Chiefs star wrote ‘Merry Christmas’ in a collaborative post with his wife Brittany.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese soccer legend called his family ‘The most important part of Christmas.’

While most of these stars are enjoying the holidays with their families, James and Mahomes are spearheading their teams in Christmas Day games.

The Chiefs are taking on the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the NFL’s Christmas Day doubleheader. Meanwhile, James will lead the Lakers against the Golden State Warriors in the fourth of the NBA’s five-game holiday lineup.

“It’s hard for me to like date another man with power. ” Angel Reese had made her stance on relationships clear. While the “Chi-town Barbie” is happily enjoying her single era, her dating history continues to spark interest. While fans might remember her high-profile relationship with Cam’Ron Fletcher, which ended in 2024, her latest revelation offers a glimpse into another ex.

In a recent episode of her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, Angel Reese welcomed her agent, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, as a guest. During their conversation, Reese revealed a toxic trait in a past relationship which inspired her to channel her energy into achieving success beyond basketball.

“He was brainwashing the boy was brainwashing me saying like you don’t have to work anymore,” Reese shared about her ex-boyfriend during college times.

Jeanine Ogbonnaya took a moment to commend Angel Reese for how she handled the situation, saying, “But you know but you…were very smart about the situation as a young woman, especially as somebody in college and you were like I don’t want that to be the case he might make it to the NFL. However, like I feel like I could have a career in social media marketing outside of like basketball.”

During her freshman year at Maryland, Angel Reese suffered a foot fracture after a layup, requiring surgery, a screw insertion, and 12 weeks of recovery. Faced with doubts and an ex-boyfriend’s suggestion to stop working, Reese briefly considered alternate career paths.

However, she persevered and thrived. At LSU, Reese’s NIL value soared to $1.8 million, earning her partnerships with top industry brands. In fact, Ogbonnaya had previously shared how Reese’s hard work post-championship fueled her rise.

Angel Reese’s relentless drive post-LSU Championship

When Angel Reese was drafted by the Chicago Sky this year, she brought with her an exceptional collegiate resume. Her two standout years at LSU, following a transfer from Maryland, showcased her determination to achieve one clear goal: securing an NCAA championship. And she did just that. But instead of resting on her success, Reese’s ambition only grew stronger.

When The Money Game debuted on Prime Video, it gave fans a window into Angel Reese’s mindset after clinching the NCAA title. Her agent, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, who appeared in the series, shared, “Angel has not had a week, a day, an hour off since she won the national championship.”

Reese led LSU to the 2023 championship, making waves with her bold move against Caitlin Clark in the finals. Her stellar performance led to a surge of NIL opportunities. Emphasizing her long-term vision, she stated, “I am not doing a deal just for three months. I wanna work with these brands for a lifetime.”

The rookie also reasoned on the importance of deals and said, “And for the women’s side, stacking your money for four years straight is something that’s gonna be helpful, especially women that may not go the next level. You kind have to get it how you get it.” Therefore, the Chi-town Barbie’s journey reflects her determination and relentless work ethic, turning challenges into opportunities as she remained undeterred by her ex-boyfriend’s suggestion.
