Mayweather recently denied that he’s broke.

50 Cent is back to trolling Floyd Mayweather after he denied rumors that he’s bankrupt and announced that he’s filing a lawsuit against Business Insider.

Fif, who has repeatedly butt heads with his former friend, reposted a clip of Mayweather speaking about his lawsuit and the bankruptcy rumors in a since-deleted Instagram post. Alongside the clip, he wrote, “Well that case is going nowhere because you didn’t do the deal champ … He must have named the writer separately to make him have to pay his own legal team. Champ mad.”

Mayweather sued Business Insider and journalist David Geiger earlier this month after the publication reported that there was “no evidence” the boxer had purchased a 62-building Manhattan apartment portfolio. In the lawsuit, he accused Geiger of embarking “on a campaign of harassment and defamation, characterized by aggressive and misleading journalism that not only distorts the truth, but seems driven by a deep-seated bias against Mr. Mayweather’s success.”

As he explained on a panel for TheRealDeal’s NYC Forum 2025 discussing real estate, he has never sued a media outlet before. “Someone is going out there putting lies on my name, putting lies on me and my team, hurting my business,” Mayweather said. He also denied that he’s broke and boasted that he has two private jets and owns “a hundred buildings.”

When Mayweather claimed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he owns “upwards of 100 buildings,” 50 Cent cast doubt. “If there safe to say, I should say LOL All cap detected,” he wrote. “Champ retarded anybody buy 60 buildings in New York would make the news. STUPID!”

Floyd Mayweather’s uncle not a fan of Manny Pacquiao getting a title shot against Mario Barrios.

Manny Pacquiao is set to make his return to the boxing ring in July, taking on Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. This will be Pacquiao’s first professional fight since his 2021 defeat to Yordenis Ugas.

Pacquiao hasn’t won a fight since his 2019 match against Keith Thurman. ‘Pacman’ is a legend of the sport, but he’s now 46, and making his return immediately into a world championship fight has raised eyebrows.

One person who has criticized the decision to give Pacquiao an immediately title shot is Floyd Mayweather’s uncle, Jeff. And in an interview on The Mayweather Channel, he spoke out.

Before I even talk about the fight, it seems that boxing has changed. Because this guy’s been retired for what, three or four years.

He continued:

He’s done nothing to be fighting for a world title. I don’t understand why he’s even fighting for a world title.

He was then asked whether it’s similar to Floyd Mayweather fighting Conor McGregor in 2017, to which he replied:

Don’t get me wrong, he’s fighting a world championship in boxing. He’s not fighting someone like Conor, he was whole different breed. He was just the number one guy in the UFC.

When further asked about Pacquiao, Jeff Mayweather added:

He’s done nothing actually to be fighting for a world title other than his name or what he’s done in the past. I mean his name is legendary but you still have guys that are fighting right now to get that number 1 spot. And you have some guy that hasn’t fought in so many years that just jumps up and takes your spot and may win a world title.

50 Cent is back on social media doing what he does best: throwing jabs.

This time, the target of his taunts is longtime frenemy Floyd Mayweather Jr., who recently filed a $100 million federal lawsuit against Business Insider, its parent company Insider Inc., and reporter Daniel Geiger.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit accuses the outlet of publishing a “knowingly false and defamatory” article that Mayweather says damaged his real estate empire.

According to the lawsuit, Geiger “repeatedly ignored documentary proof of Mayweather’s ownership and business success, refused multiple invitations to review verified transaction records, and relied instead on unnamed sources and innuendo.”

Mayweather further claims that he “lost lease opportunities at his buildings” and suffered missed “emergency rent-freeze concessions” because of the article, which he believes was driven by “racial and political bias.”

But 50 Cent didn’t hold back his skepticism. Taking to Instagram, the rapper-turned-TV mogul wrote, “Well that case is going nowhere because you didn’t do the deal champ. He must have named the writer separately to make him have to pay his own legal team. Champ mad.”

Mayweather, however, insists this legal battle is about more than just image. “This lawsuit isn’t just about setting the record straight,” his attorney Bobby Samini stated. “It’s about holding the press accountable when they cross the line from journalism into calculated character assassination.”

“I’m 48 years old, and I’ve never sued a media outlet,” Mayweather explained. “But the media outlets, throughout my life, have bashed me, talked bad about me, spoke bad about my family… Judge me for the person that you know.”

Insider fired back, promising, “We will vigorously defend against this meritless attempt to discredit our reporting and smear our reporter.”

In classic 50 fashion, the trolling was swift—and brutal.

Two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford might be in some trouble ahead of his mega fight against undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. Why? Well, as it turns out, his humongous payday might be in jeopardy, as ‘Cinnamon’ may end up retiring from the sport before the fight happens.

The pair is set to square off on September 13th, though the venue remains undecided. With Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas unavailable due to a college football game, potential locations now include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York. Regardless, ahead of the blockbuster fight, Eddie Hearn, who has promoted many of Canelo’s fights, reflected on his future.

While appearing in an interview with Fight Hub TV recently, the Matchroom boss was pressed about his thoughts on Canelo’s performance against William Scull earlier this month. In response, Hearn dropped a bombshell nobody saw coming. “A little bit, yeah,” Hearn said when asked whether he sees the Crawford fight differently after the Scull fight.

For context, Scull ran around the ring during the fight, avoiding engagement, as Canelo reportedly failed to cut off the ring. “ It wasn’t just the fact that he couldn’t cut the ring off. I just feel like the timing now, the age that…  I just feel like that desire might be fading a little bit. Not because of his love for… but just because of age, and like life,” Hearn told the reporter.

Hearn believes the Crawford fight will “definitely get him up for it,” but watching the Canelo-Scull fight, Hearn couldn’t help but think, “ I wouldn’t be surprised if he retired and actually didn’t fight Crawford.” Hearn added that he thinks Canelo might not want to “ lose to Crawford, a much smaller guy, just because he is at the end of the road.”

And in case Canelo Alvarez does go through with the Crawford fight, letting Crawford make millions, Hearn claimed, “I bet he retires after that fight.” In the meantime, another boxing veteran has made a damning claim about Canelo Alvarez.

Bob Arum brands Canelo Alvarez boring ahead of the Terence Crawford fight

Terence Crawford

Bob Arum didn’t hold back in his assessment of Canelo Alvarez ahead of the Mexican star’s showdown with Terence Crawford. Speaking to Fight Hub TV, the legendary promoter questioned Canelo’s recent performances and motivation. “Canelo has shown in his last few fights that he’s just a businessman. He’s not in there to entertain the public. He just takes the big check,” Arum said, referencing Canelo’s $400 million four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.

Canelo, who hasn’t scored a knockout since 2021, is coming off a lackluster win over William Scull. Arum questioned which version of Alvarez will show up, stating, “Who’s Canelo? What Canelo is gonna show up? The Canelo who is looking to cash a big check or the Canelo that really wants to fight like a fighter?” He added, “The Canelo we have seen in the last two years is not only boring, but doesn’t really have an incentive to mix it up.”

Having said that, if Eddie Hearn’s speculation that Canelo Alvarez may retire before the fight is to be believed, Terence Crawford might lose out on big money. However, as Bob Arum mentioned, if not anything else, Canelo would show up to collect a check. Do you think Canelo would retire before the Crawford fight?

Jake Paul Secures Anthony Joshua Deal Off the Radar After Losing Canelo Alvarez Fight

Jake Paul fans have reason to celebrate. Although he’s set to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. next month, following the electrifying event he headlined with Mike Tyson last November, Paul now promises to deliver another unforgettable spectacle. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the Ohio native revealed that a potential bout with Anthony Joshua is in the works for next year.

That’s major news. From fighting the youngest heavyweight champion in history, Paul then took on a former middleweight. And now he’s eyeing a match with a former unified heavyweight champion who remains active in the sport. After back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua had managed to steer his career back toward title contention, until Daniel Dubois disrupted those plans. While talks of a much-anticipated all-British showdown with Tyson Fury have circulated, they largely remain uncertain due to Fury’s retirement. A high-profile clash with a global name like Jake Paul could not only reignite Joshua’s momentum but also promise a significant payday.

Anthony Joshua

As the interview wrapped up, Helwani touched on several rumored matchups. One involved former super middleweight champion and International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Carl Froch, who reportedly claimed he could take on Jake Paul with ‘one hand tied.’

So Ariel Helwani then asked, “And is Joshua a real thing in 26?” “Yeah, yeah,” responded Jake Paul before adding, “Yeah, we talked on the phone for like 10 minutes. Wow, Um, and we’re both down, and I said 2026. He was like, “All right, let’s get it.” And we’re going to make it happen. Um, so yeah, I think that’s going to be a mega fight next year and something fun to test my skills at heavyweight.

Paul nevertheless, couldn’t resist closing with a bold prediction. He ‘believes’ he can beat Anthony Joshua. So Paul reflected, “I think his chin is gone, and especially if he fights another time or two in between the end of 2026, I love Anthony. He’s always supported me. Um, I’ve always supported him, but I just do believe I can beat him in a fight.

Tyson Fury drops ANOTHER retirement U-turn hint as Gypsy King teases return to the ring amid calls for him to finally face Anthony Joshua

  • Fury called it a day after suffering his second defeat by Oleksandr Usyk last year
  • He has, though, since shared several social videos suggesting he could return
  • Fans are clambering for Fury and Joshua to finally do battle inside the ring

Tyson Fury has dropped another retirement U-turn hint as the Gypsy King continues to tease his latest return to the ring.

Fury called it a day in boxing after his second defeat by Oleksandr Usyk in December last year, meaning he suffered his only two defeats of his career in his last two bouts -against the same person.

Fans were left with raised eyebrows with Fury having retired before, but the Gypsy King has since insisted that he truly is done for good at 36 years of age.

That may not be the case, though. Fury continues to share posts that could suggest he is going to return to the ring in the near future, including a number of posts of him keeping in shape in the boxing gym.

Now, however, he may have shared the biggest hint of all, taking to social media and sharing a small video of him and his dad, John Fury, who recently turned 60.

Both men were seen in suits, walking seemingly with purpose. It is what Fury said, though, that has caught the eye.

‘Business meeting today, dad,’ Fury said. ‘En route. Incoming, incoming.’

It remains unclear what the meeting was for, with the only other posts shared since snaps of John’s birthday party the night before.

Fury also triggered suggestions that he could be on his way to a return when he shared footage of himself training with boxing legend and long-time trainer SugarHill Stewart in the gym.

Tyson Fury

‘Just in the gym,’ Fury said in the social media post. ‘I just bumped into somebody you might know,’ he said before turning the camera to Steward. Steward said: ‘You know what is coming. You know what time it is.’

If Fury is to return, he would face calls to finally face off with long-time rival Anthony Joshua in an British heavyweight showdown.

Joshua is currently injury, but talk is growing of him potentially fighting Fury – though he would need his countryman to come out of retirement for that to happen.

‘I do [think it can be easily made],’ Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently told talkSPORT ‘In the past, it’s always been, one’s a champion, one’s a challenger.

‘Now, both guys are in a similar position. They’re coming off a defeat. Fury has two defeats, both by Oleksandr Usyk. They’re both still pretty much in their prime, and sometimes you don’t need the world championship belt.

‘Sometimes when you’ve got two champions trying to become undisputed, it’s a little bit cagey.’

British professional boxer Anthony Joshua held the Unified world heavyweight championship twice between 2016 and 2021.

At the regional level, he held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles from 2015 to 2016. Born in the year 1989 on October 15th, he began his boxing career in 2007 at the age of 18. This was after his alleged cousin introduced him to it.

On 11 July 2013, it was confirmed that Joshua had turned professional under the Matchroom Sports promotional banner. He initially took boxing to win medals and not for the money. The last time the great boxer fought was back in September the year 2024 against Daniel Dubois. He e lost to him during his third time attempt in becoming a three-time world champion back in Wembley. The fight showed Dubois dominate Anthony as he managed to knock him out in the fifth round.

Joshua has in total had 32 fights with 28 wins and 25 knockouts. He has made three successful defenses, and he holds the IBF and the WBO world titles. Though as much as we all awaited the bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury unfortunately the bout will have to take some steps back as Joshua announced that he is suffering an elbow injury.

He is expected to be going for surgery, which will have to put him out of the gym for about 8 to 6 weeks, then once healed and deemed able to continue with his boxing career. He will be back to feed his opponents with his wrath. As much as he craves and yearns to continue boxing, his whole future is still uncertain, and he only hopes for relief in the future.

Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has had no shortage of bust-ups and war of words with his boxing rivals in the past, but only one fighter has earned the British boxer’s true hatred.

Joshua, 35, who made his pro debut in 2013 following his London 2012 super-heavyweight gold medal success, twice held the WBO, IBF, and WBA championships from 2018 to 2019 and went on to repeat the feat after he reclaimed his belts at the expense of Andy Ruiz Jr in late 2019.

The orthodox 6ft 6in boxer had ownership of the coveted titles until he was defeated by Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk in 2021, as the now 38-year-old put an end to Joshua’s two-year reign as the unified champion.

Following on from that disappointment, Joshua fought against noteworthy opponents, including former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and fellow British boxer Daniel Dubois, in an attempt to steer his career onto the path of a championship bout once more.

Anthony Joshua’s professional boxing record (as of 19/05/25)
32 fights 28 wins 4 losses
By knockout 25 2
By decision 3 2

There has also been the long-standing rivalry with Tyson Fury that had looked destined to be settled in a boxing ring, before the Gypsy King’s retirement silenced talk of the match-up.

However, none of these men can claim to be the subject of Joshua’s intense dislike, as the 35-year-old instead named another of his previous foes, Dillian Whyte.

What Anthony Joshua Has Said About ‘Most-Hated’ Rival

AJ is not a fan of his and he’s made that public knowledge

Anthony Joshua

Speaking before Whyte clashed with Tyson Fury in 2022, AJ made his disdain for the man he had fought twice known.

“I’m rooting for Dillian (ahead of Fury v Whyte), even though I hate him, and I want to smash him one of these days.”

The rivalry between the two is deep-rooted and stems from an amateur bout in 2009 where Whyte picked up the win thanks to the judges’ scorecards. The professional rematch in 2015, dubbed “bad intentions”, went the way of Joshua as the Watford-born boxer won in the seventh round via TKO.

The build-up to that fight was well documented, and its spectacle only aided by a face-to-face meeting between the two that aired on Sky Sports at the time.

“You got bashed up,” Whyte said to Joshua (referring to the amateur fight) before AJ interjected, making his thoughts on the Jamaican-British boxer clear: “You talk too much.”

With Dillian Whyte set to make his return to the ring in June after an injury that forced the cancellation of his fight with Joe Joyce, and Anthony Joshua yet to confirm his next opponent, the chance to reignite this long-standing rivalry could be on the cards before too long.

Dave Allen has been in the ring with some of the best heavyweights on the planet, including Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Allen is a well travelled boxer who has done plenty of gym round with the top talents in the banner division, including Oleksandr Usyk and Wladimir Klitschko, and he has also been under the lights in the professional ring against a fine list of names including Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz, though he lost to both.

Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course for much of that time but have never yet met in the ring. Many hoped this year would be the perfect time, given that both lost back-to-back fights to Usyk and were left without any belts as the Ukrainian became the undisputed champion.

Although Fury announced his shock retirement in January, which put paid to the plans for now, there is a general feeling – and plenty of hints from the man himself – that he will make a return for the lucrative contest.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Allen was asked who would win the fight if that should happen and opted clearly for ‘The Gypsy King.’

“I’ve got to go Tyson.”

Though neither men has a belt, it is a fight the public has long wanted and the fact their reputation and legacy would be on the line is what makes it so huge. ‘AJ’ will be recovering from minor elbow surgery and is targetting a return late in the year, giving Fury the time it takes to decide whether or not he will return.

As for Allen, he reinvigorated his career at the lower level with a statement knockout of Johnny Fisher this weekend in London, putting an end to any controversy from their first fight in which Fisher won on points.

It’s uncommon for professional boxers to take out their frustration after a loss on someone else, but sadly, incidents like that still happen. According to a report from Brunch Boxing, such an incident recently unfolded at a Shuan Boxing Promotion’s event in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, last night, drawing attention from fans and experts alike, especially three-weight undisputed champion Claressa Shields.

Known for being outspoken on matters both inside and outside the ring, Shields took to social media to express her disappointment over the situation. Her reaction underscores the responsibility athletes have in setting an example, especially in a sport as intense and emotionally charged as boxing. “Referee gets viciously attacked at a boxing event in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic tonight. Going to be a lot of arrests and suspensions,” Brunch Boxing wrote on X while sharing the shocking clip. The video showed a group of enraged men invading the ring after a fight and viciously attacking the referee in charge. While all the details about the incident aren’t fully clear yet, Shields was surely disappointed.

“This is FK’N RIDICULOUS!!!!! This is sad!!!!!” Shields wrote while responding to the clip from Brunch Boxing. Despite the shocking nature of the incident, it’s not the first time such reports have emerged from Shuan Boxing Promotion’s event in the Dominican Republic, leaving boxing fans utterly shocked by the actions of a boxer. Just last year in June, a similar incident occurred.

Julio De Jesus Rodriguez attacked referee Smaylin Valdez after his fight against Angel Cruz Johnson was stopped in the second round. Valdez, however, returned the favor by attacking Rodriguez before fleeing the ring. According to sources, Rodriguez, who was in a six-fight losing streak at the time, was suspended for life by the local commission.

However, he was scheduled to face Ismael Villarreal at the same venue on May 17th. It’s unclear what the result of the fight was or whether it was Rodriguez again who attacked the referee a second time upon his return. Regardless, a similar incident happened in 2022 as well.

Heavyweight fight ends with a feral scene

Claressa Shields

A wild heavyweight showdown between Viktor Vykhryst and Iago Kiladze on 2022 New Year’s Day ended in chaos at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. The two sluggers traded five knockdowns in under two rounds—Vykhryst scoring three, Kiladze two—in a relentless firefight that saw them throw 110 punches, according to CompuBox.

The madness didn’t end with the final bell. After referee Samuel Burgos waved off the bout in round two, Kiladze lost control and swung at him in protest. “What’s wrong with you, man?” Kiladze shouted as his punch ricocheted off the referee’s arm. Thankfully, Burgos appeared unharmed and was later seen laughing off the incident.

Vykhryst improved to 9-0, while Kiladze fell to 27-6-1. Despite not being the main event, this slobberknocker stole the spotlight with its explosive action and feral finish, leaving fans and officials stunned by the unhinged turn of events.

That said, Claressa Shields clearly doesn’t condone such behavior from a boxer or their team, but unfortunately, it continues to happen, without any severe consequences. What are your thoughts on the incident?
