Daniel Dubois has been in the ring with both Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua, and may be again soon.

The young Brit’s first world title tilt came against Usyk in August of 2023 after the Ukrainian had taken three of the four major belts from Joshua and defended them in a rematch.

Dubois tried to impose himself on the southpaw champion but was largely unsuccessful save for a moment in the fifth round when he would drop Usyk. It was immediately ruled a low blow and Usyk was given ample time to recover before getting back into his rhythm and scoring his first stoppage in three fights. Dubois was put down in both the eighth and ninth before failing to stand for the referee’s count.

While Usyk went on to become undisputed champion with a win over Tyson Fury, Dubois bounced back with wins over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, fighting himself into a position to hold the interim IBF belt and subsequently the full title when Usyk vacated it.

His first defence came against Joshua at Wembley Stadium, and the 28-year-old would retain his strap with an assured and destructive performance that saw him drop ‘AJ’ three times before the fifth round stoppage. Joshua did land a few heavy shots of his own in an attempt to turn the tide, one of which Dubois says felt like a ‘bomb going off.’

Despite that, in a recent feature with the Ring Magazine ‘DDD’ said Tyson Fury, who he has only sparred, hits harder than Joshua and that Usyk hits harder than Fury. A surprising outcome given ‘AJ’ is known as the knockout puncher between the three.

Dubois puts his belt on the line against Joseph Parker this weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a win all but guaranteeing him a rematch with Usyk for the undisputed championship.

Eddie Hearn has opened up on whether or not Anthony Joshua is thinking about retirement as he plots a way back to the top of boxing.

AJ has suffered several high-profile defeats in the last few years after his two losses to Oleksandr Usyk were followed up by battering from Daniel Dubois last September.

That fight saw Joshua relinquish the IBF heavyweight title after he sunk to the canvas in the fifth round at Wembley.

That has given both Joshua – and his promoter Hearn – the challenge of finding a path to rebuild the 35-year-old’s reputation or else call it quits.

A blockbuster all-British bout against Tyson Fury was tipped for some point this year but the Gypsy King, reeling from his own Usyk defeats, retired from the sport last month to close that avenue to redemption for Joshua.

Fury’s decision led to speculation that Joshua may follow suit and also retire. And Hearn admitted that day may not be too far away.

“Not yet, but there will come the time, “ Hearn said. “Those kinds of conversations really come from behind the scenes from how somebody is performing in camp.

“In camp, if you haven’t got it anymore, it’ll be apparent. The injuries will get worse, you’ll get hurt in sparring against somebody you shouldn’t be getting hurt against.

Anthony Joshua

“You’re not sharp and when that moment comes, that’s when the team will say  ‘AJ’s not looking good you know’ and that’s the moment when I will probably have a conversation with him.

“For the Daniel Dubois fight, the camp was great. He was super sharp and we were really confident going into that fight, coming off four good wins, two really good wins, and we thought he would win.

“We knew how dangerous the fight was, so he comes out, has a terrible start, never really recovers, comes back into the fight a little bit and gets chinned. No problem.”

“If camp had gone really poorly and we were unsure, I think that conversation may have been brought forward.”

So, with retirement off the cards for the short-term then who are the duo eyeing up for Joshua’s next bout? The answer to that will become clear after this coming weekend.

Dubois will defend his title on February 22 in Saudi Arabia when he takes on Kiwi Joseph Parker. Hearn and AJ’s plan is to fight the victor – whoever that may be.

Hearn told BetFred : “Right now because Tyson Fury is retired, so put him to the side, the number one choice for AJ is to fight for the world heavyweight title. That’s 99 per cent of what he wants to do and if that’s Daniel Dubois, no problem. If that’s Joseph Parker, no problem.

“If AJ turns around and says that’s what he’s doing, then it’s done. It’s not me saying he can’t fight Daniel Dubois. Some people say he shouldn’t have fought Oleksandr Usyk. What are you talking about?

“It’s your job, he’s the mandatory, what do you want to do? Give your belt up and have all that criticism that you ducked Usyk and you vacated your belt to do it?”

Anthony Joshua is training hard to stay ready for his return to the ring in 2025. The former two-time heavyweight champion (28-4, 25 KOs) still hasn’t picked out an opponent for his next fight, but it’s believed he’s waiting for Tyson Fury to announce that he’s coming out of retirement, writes boxingnews24.com.

Promoter Eddie Hearn says Fury is the one they want, but they’re also interested in a rematch with IBF champion, Daniel Dubois.  Joshua, 35, wants to avenge his fifth-round loss to Dubois from last summer on September 21st. The two fought in front of a big crowd at Wembley Stadium, in London. Losing in front of all those fans was a disappointment for AJ, as he let them down. If Fury doesn’t unretire soon, Joshua will need to decide whether to continue to wait or stay busy fighting one of the top contenders.

Deontay Wilder is another guy who Hearn is interested in fighting Joshua. Andy Ruiz Jr. is interested in a trilogy with Joshua, and that’s a fight that would attract a lot of interest.     Joshua’s options are Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury,  Andy Ruiz Jr, Deontay Wilder, Derek Chisora,  Dillian Whyte and Martin Bakole.
Hearn hasn’t sounded excited about Joshua fighting Bakole. It could be that he feels that the fight wouldn’t sell to the UK market because Bakole isn’t well-known to casual boxing fans. It’s also a risky fight for Joshua because he’s coming off a four-knockdown, fifth-round KO loss to Dubois.

Fighting a dangerous puncher like Bakole in his first fight back sounds like a bad idea. The 39-year-old Wilder is also a risky fight, and he might be more trouble than he’s worth at this stage of his career. It’s too late in the game for a fight between Joshua and Deontay to be worth pursuing.

Issa Baecation? Claressa Shields & Papoose’s Cozy Beachside Selfie Goes Viral For THIS Reason (PHOTO)

The holiday season is wrapped, but Claressa Shields and Papoose are the surprise gifts that keep giving! Since Remy Ma first exposed their romance in December, the champion boxer and rapper haven’t been shy about stepping out together. From a boxing match to now beachside vibes, here’s the selfie that seemingly shows the new pair still going strong!

Claressa Shares Vacation Selfie With Papoose

On Sunday (February 16), Shields shared a selfie of her and Pap standing in what looks like beachside waters on her Instagram Stories. Both of them had their pearly whites on full display as Papoose posed behind his new lady, and she snapped the photo. While she wore a gold triangle bikini top, Pap opted for a full fit—from the black New York cap to a Burberry black tee and black shorts. Needless to say, his outfit choice had social media cuttin’ up. Claressa even had her vacation braids in! However, it’s still unclear if the trip was a vacation or a family-friends affair.

In additional posts on her IG Stories, Claressa also filmed herself having drinks and walking through what looks like a hotel with another woman on Sunday.

Meanwhile, posts from Monday (February 17) show Claressa and Papoose at the Hawai’i Fest 2025 the day before. The line-up features artists like Ashanti, Sean Paul, Ja Rule, and YG Marley. When Papoose took the stage with CuhDeeJah, Claressa cheered him on as she watched from the crowd! While he shared footage from the festival, it doesn’t appear that he shared any content with her new lady.

Social Media Reacts To Couple’s New Selfie

After TSR reposted Papoose and Claressa’s beach selfie, over 9,000 roomies shared various reactions in the comment section.

And while the internet continues to chit-chat about Papoose and Claressa, she appears unfazed by the haters. She’s already told her fans that it’s more than a fling with her boo. It’s upgraded LOVE on both ends–her words, not ours!

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather have had a turbulent relationship.

Boxing legend Mayweather guided ‘Tank’ during the majority of his career, as Davis won world titles in multiple weight divisions and became widely regarded as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

The two then parted ways in 2022, and things have seemingly turned hostile since then, with both men having fired insults in the opposite direction in the years that have followed.

Davis has now revealed that his former mentor Mayweather once put him in a fight where he wanted ‘Tank’ to lose, explaining to The Jay Hill Podcast how things transpired.

“I’ve been in situations where I was in a lose-lose situation and came out still on top. He [Mayweather] put me in to make me lose and thought I would lose. A boxing match. Jose Pedraza. My first world title. I was 16-0 and I was 21 at the time and I hadn’t fought in seven, eight months.

Around that time I wasn’t making that much. Maybe around 10,000 a fight. Six months is crazy to not fight. When they came back and said you’ve got to fight this fighter Pedraza, If you don’t fight him you’re not fighting and sitting on the shelf.

I had to fight him, in the midst of all that happening, I got evicted, I had to sell my jewellery.

For sure [Floyd did that intentionally].”

Davis fought Pedraza back in January 2017, winning the fight by seventh round stoppage to capture the IBF super-featherweight title and become world champion for the first time.

‘Tank’ returns to action in March when he defends his WBA lightweight crown against Lamont Roach, but another recently crowned world champion is already calling to face Davis next.

Anthony Joshua has begun training again for the first time since losing to Daniel Dubois.

The British heavyweight has yet to pencil in his next showdown in the squared circle, having been brutally dropped three times and stopped by Daniel Dubois in September.

He is eyeing a ring return in 2025, and has been linked with a number of fights including against Martin Bakole.

Joshua is expected to wait for the winner of this weekend’s clash between Dubois and Joseph Parker before making his next move.

But in the meantime, AJ has decided to begin working out again.

He posted two videos of training footage, one on the beach shirtless where he still looked in impressive shape.

And his workout continued by night, as he then posted another video of himself boxing against a gazebo, not afraid to use any objects he can.

Fans were trying to spot any clues as to his current condition and potential next fight.

And they all noticed he was working on his defence while throwing punches, keeping his hands firmly up.

One wrote: “He’s keeping his hands up, needs to make sure he does that in his next fight.”

Another added: “Yeah now he needs to keep them up, especially so he doesn’t visit hook city.”

A viewer agreed: “He needs to keep working on his defence to protect his chin.”

Other fans gave a more optimistic take, with one writing: “3x heavyweight champion coming soon.”

One even concluded: “He looks in great shape, he’s going to return with a win.”

But others were less so, with one writing: “Bakole beats him.”

A viewer even joked: “He needs to train his chin instead.”

Despite his defeat, Joshua is still viewed as a leading heavyweight and will be hoping to return into the world title mix this year.

He was first keen to face Tyson Fury in a two-fight deal which was expected to be his main pursuit in 2025.

But the ‘Gypsy King’ retired and appeared to put a damaging blow to Joshua’s chances of settling his rivalry.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has now suggested the winner of Dubois vs Parker will now be the primary target.

Anthony Joshua

“Right now because Tyson Fury is retired, so put him to the side, the number one choice for AJ is to fight for the world heavyweight title,” Hearn told Betfred.

“That’s 99 per cent of what he wants to do and if that’s Daniel Dubois, no problem. If that’s Joseph Parker, no problem.

“If AJ turns around and says that’s what he’s doing, then it’s done.

“It’s not me saying he can’t fight Daniel Dubois. Some people say he shouldn’t have fought Oleksandr Usyk. What are you talking about?

“It’s your job, he’s the mandatory, what do you want to do?

“Give your belt up and have all that criticism that you ducked Usyk and you vacated your belt to do it?”

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have not often seen eye to eye but seem to agree on who will win the upcoming IBF heavyweight world title fight.

Fury retired in January after a second straight loss to Oleksandr Usyk left him without any belts. The Ukrainian also handed the same fate to Joshua when the pair fought in back-to-back contests in 2021 and 2022.

As such, many fans hoped the two British rivals would come together for a final legacy-defining contest, but with Fury now having walked away from the sport, that is off the table.

Instead, the next big fight on the horizon is an IBF title defence for the in-form Daniel Dubois against the equally in-form Joseph Parker on February 22.

Between them, these two have beaten Joshua, Zhilei Zhang, Deontay Wilder, Fillip Hrgvic and Jarrell Miller in their last few contests.

When he was with Turki Alalshikh recently, Joshua was asked by the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority who he was backing on the contest and he went with his former victim Parker to come out on top and establish himself as a two-time world heavyweight champion.

Meanwhile, when speaking to TNT Sports, ‘The Gypsy King’ was asked the same questions and answered the same way.

“I’ve got to go with my old pal, Joseph Parker.”

Fury and Parker have been in camp many times together, and he and ‘AJ’ are not the only ones backing the New Zealander to come to on top with former British title challenger David Adeleye also leaning towards him.

For the winner, a potential undisputed bout with Usyk awaits.

FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Claressa Shields chose to fight in her hometown, a once-powerful city that has taken a series of hits, over opportunities to be the headliner on a boxing card in New York, Las Vegas or Detroit.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-division champion is facing top-ranked contender Danielle Perkins for the undisputed heavyweight title on Sunday night in Flint, Michigan.

“This fight could have been anywhere in the world from the Barclays Center to T-Mobile and to the LCA,” Shields said Thursday in an interview with The Associated Press. “We were like, ‘Either you want to fight at the Barclays Center or do you want to fight in Flint?’

“My dream is fight at the Barclay’s, but the occasion calls for me to want to bring it back home because of the history of the fight, the first women’s undisputed championship at heavyweight.”

Shields is putting the spotlight on Flint just as she did in the movie “The Fire Inside,” released in December.

The birthplace of General Motors, 90 miles north of Detroit, has been on an economic roller-coaster ride for more than a century as the automaker lifted the community, left it and later retooled for changing markets.

Flint switched water sources in 2014 and began drawing water from the Flint River while a regional pipeline from Lake Huron was being constructed. The river water was not treated to reduce corrosion, a disastrous decision that led to lead from old pipes flowing into homes, schools and businesses.

The city returned to the Detroit water supply 18 months later. State tests since 2016 show Flint’s water has consistently been under the federal action levels for lead and copper, though some skeptical residents still use filters or bottled water.

Flint’s population was down to about 100,000 residents in 2010, according to the Census Bureau, after losing about 20,000 people in a decade.

Claressa Shields

Mayor Sheldon Neeley said the city is making a comeback with water that is safe to drink and new jobs to help people pay bills.

Shields, he said, is a shining example of how resilient residents in the city have become.

“She really embodies the spirit of the city of Flint — coming from crisis to recovery,” Neely said.

He added: “And it’s great that she chose her hometown to be able to bring this great showcase here.”

A sellout crowd of about 6,000 is expected at Dort Financial Center, home of the Ontario Hockey League’s Flint Firebirds, to witness the fight. More will watch via streaming service DAZN.

The 29-year-old Shields is 15-0 and has heavyweight, light heavyweight and middleweight belts that are kept in a rolling suitcase that travels with her.

She is coming off her third career knockout against WBC heavyweight champion Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in July at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, where the floor was packed and the lower level was mostly full of her fans.

Perkins, a 42-year-old former St. John’s basketball player, has won all five of her bouts with two by knockout and suddenly has more people following her next fight. The 10-card will also include three other matchups involving women.

“I always have told Claressa that I do always appreciate everything that she’s done for boxing,” said Perkins, who is from Brooklyn, New York. “Her coming up to the heavyweight division is the best thing that could have ever happened to me in my entire life. No one at any point ever cared about this division until Claressa came up here.”

Jake Paul’s controversial fight with Mike Tyson is back in the spotlight after the YouTuber’s latest on screen blunder.

The boxer appeared to slip up whilst discussing their fight during a live stream with fellow internet star Adin Ross.

Paul secured a unanimous decision victory over the former heavyweight world champion in November.

It was Tyson’s first professional bout since 2005, with Iron Mike entering the ring at 58 years old.

Tyson had also been forced to pull out of their initially scheduled contest in July last year on medical advice.

However, Paul has now been forced to clarify comments suggesting his opponent had Parkinson’s disease before their clash.

Discussing psychedelic drugs with Ross, he said: “Ayahuasca is really good for your brain as well, same with toad.

“Toad is what cured Mike Tyson’s Parkinson’s, no sorry, toad cured Tyson’s Parkinson’s so he could come back and fight.”

Shocked by the bombshell revelation, Ross replied: “What the f***. So the Parkinson’s from a toad, he licked a toad? How does that work?”

Paul then added: “You smoke it.”

The clip soon went viral on social media, prompting the 28-year-old to clarify his remarks in a post on X.

He wrote: “Bruh… Mike Tyson didn’t have no Parkinson’s… WTF. Why the f*** is the internet so stupid for. I misspoke.

“Meant he used toad to heal his pain. He has spoken about it many times. Just like I do. Just like many do.”

Tyson has previously spoken about his experience with ‘Toad Venom’ prior to returning for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

Discussing his decision to box again, he told The Joe Rogan Experience in 2022: “I did this toad, this DMT stuff and I lost that weight.

“I don’t know what happened. I just said I’m going to do this. I did this toad and this toad said, ‘You gotta do this. You have to do it.'”

According to AddictionCenter.com, smoking Toad Venom has become popular in the USA in recent years.

The Colorado River or Sonoran Desert toad excretes toxins containing the psychedelic chemical 5-MeO-DMT.

Once dried into a paste, it can be smoked, with users feeling the impact almost immediately before being left ‘physically incapacitated’ for around 30 minutes.

Some users, such as Tyson, make major changes because of their new outlook on life, with the boxing legend choosing to make his return to the ring.

There isn’t much that Gervonta Davis can say, or do, that will shock you. We’ve heard him threaten his opponents. We’ve also seen him send them to the hospital. Seeing him step out of the coolest sports cars and wearing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry also isn’t surprising. With that said, what he revealed a few months ago, left nearly everyone speechless.
During a routine press conference to announce his upcoming showdown against Lamont Roach, Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) arbitrarily stated that 2025 will be his final year in the sport. As the months have gone by, Davis has continued to put in the work. With March 1st inching closer and closer, fans are hoping that Davis’ retirement talk would be the furthest thing from his mind.
Recently, however, he revealed that it’s at the forefront.
“Y’all getting the last little bit of Gervonta that y’all gonna see,” said Davis on an episode of Gloves Off: Tank vs Roach.
If Davis is deadset on walking away from this violent game, then fans are hoping that he’ll be involved in some of the biggest fights in the sport. Roach, by and large, doesn’t qualify as such but showdowns against Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, and even Teofimo Lopez are matchups that the boxing public has been craving for years.

Gervonta Davis

Davis, to his credit, has expressed interest in making those bouts happen. But he won’t get ahead of himself. Roach might be moving up in weight, but the 29-year-old is a current champion at 130 pounds and Davis has been inactive since scoring an eighth-round stoppage win over Frank Martin in June of 2024.
His future schedule isn’t set in stone just yet but whether it’s Roach, Stevenson, Haney, or anyone else, Davis promises to be the best version of himself until he hangs ’em up.
“I’m a make sure that I do what I’m supposed to so I can be the best that I can.”
