MyKayla Skinner called out Simone Biles for years of bullying, which resurfaced after Biles’ recent remarks on swimmer Riley Gaines.

Former US gymnast MyKayla Skinner is calling out Olympic icon Simone Biles, accusing her of years of bullying and saying Biles’ recent clash with swimmer Riley Gaines triggered painful memories.

The controversy started earlier this month when Biles, a seven-time Olympic gold medalist, apologized for comparing Gaines to a man. The comment came during a public argument over Gaines’ stance against transgender athletes in women’s sports.

Skinner, who competed alongside Biles from 2014 to 2020 and represented Team USA at two Olympics, says that moment pushed her to finally speak out.

Skinner ‘endured being belittled’

Last week, Skinner claimed she “endured being belittled, dismissed and ostracized behind the scenes by Simone,” and expanded on those remarks in a new interview.

“Throughout my career, there have been many times when I have been belittled and bullied by Simone and have wanted to keep quiet for the other athletes,” Skinner told Fox. “And there have been multiple times through my Olympic journey and through camps, training, everything that we have gone through where she has come and belittled all of us. I’ve wanted to stay silent through this because she has a huge platform,” as cited by DailyMail report.

Their relationship took a major hit during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Skinner had started a YouTube channel to comment on Team USA’s performance and questioned the depth of the roster, saying: “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be.”

Biles fired back on Instagram after winning gold, posting a photo with the caption: “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.” On Threads, she added: “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.”

After that, Skinner blocked Biles on Instagram. Biles announced the move on X, and teammate Jordan Chiles shared a photo of Biles holding her phone with proof. Several other gymnasts, including Suni Lee and Jade Carey, also blocked Skinner.

Gymnastics star McKayla Maroney weighed in as well, backing Biles. “It doesn’t get more iconic than this,” she wrote on Instagram. “[Skinner] f’d around n found out fr. Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.”

Reflecting on the fallout nearly a year later, Skinner says the situation spiraled out of control.

Skinner says her words were ‘twisted’

“I had multiple fans reach out that wanted me to go live, publicly live, and wanted me to make a YouTube video commentating Olympic trials because I know gymnastics, I have been to the Olympics, and to share my experiences,” she said. “Everybody had loved it and then during my short 15-minute YT video they had taken a short clip, twisted my words and it had gone viral.”

“Then the bullying had happened, Simone and I had a conversation and I thought things had died down,” she added. “More had started to play into it throughout the Olympic games and I was getting bullied, my publicist was also getting bullied, hateful threats comments, comments on my family and daughter.”

“I reached out to Simone personally, and got no response, no response from the girls. I had reached out to my fellow teammates and friends and got no response from them as well.”

Now, Skinner says she wants to shine a light on cyberbullying.

Asked if Biles’ “belittling behavior” happened throughout her career, Skinner said: “Yes it did. Yes, multiple times throughout. Different moments in my career and it has been very hard and very difficult and this is why I have wanted to speak out. With the Olympics going on that was a major experience that I went through and very difficult and I want to continue to help cyber bullying come to an end.” Simone Biles has not responded to Skinner’s recent claims.

Riley Gaines Announces She’s Pregnant, Takes Jab at Simone Biles

Riley Gaines Simone Said I Was Tall Like A Dude

Can A Man Grow A Baby Bump???

The Riley Gaines-Simone Biles dust-up seems to be settling down – mainly after Simone babbled through a PR apology after getting wrecked for three straight days – but that doesn’t mean Hollywood hasn’t taken notice.

Rob Schneider – the dude in every single Adam Sandler movie – has thrown his support behind Riley for essentially saving women’s sports.

For those who missed it, in the wake of Riley’s takedown of Simone, USA Gymnastics told Fox News this week that they were re-assessing their transgender policy. Better late than never, I reckon.

Anyway, Schneider – who is a big MAGA guy – took to Elon’s Twitter early Friday morning to praise Riley for taking on #TheMob.

“I am proud to call Riley Gaines my biological female friend,” Schneider wrote. “And an American hero of all girls everywhere!”

Riley Gaines wins again!

Look, I know the Riley-Simone feud is pretty-well simmered at this point – especially in a news cycle now filled with potential WWIII stories – but it’s still important to claim victory whenever we can.

And OutKick has been atop the podium in this case for several years now. Slowly but surely, the #MOB is dying down. They keep trying to work in a couple of sneak-attacks on us, but they usually fail at this point.

That’s what we had last weekend, and earlier this week, with the insufferable Simone Biles. She tried to attack Riley for sticking up for women, and she got dragged through the mud for it. Did anyone, outside of Keith Olbermann and Jemele Hill, agree with her? Not really, and those ain’t folks you want in your corner.

After a few days of some nasty back-and-forth, Simone’s PR team finally waved the white flag and begged for mercy. They cobbled up some rambling social media post for her to hit ‘send’ on, and that was that.

Sure, Rob’s a little late to the party. But the bandwagon has plenty of room for more! Especially for dudes in Hollywood who have the balls to say what the rest of those insufferable elites won’t.

So, welcome to the party, Rob! Can’t wait for Grown Ups 3.

Simone Biles apologizes for heated exchange with Riley Gaines over trans athlete participation

Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles has apologized to former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines following a heated online exchange

Two-time Olympic all-around champion Simone Biles has apologized for getting personal in a heated online exchange with former collegiate swimmer turned anti-trans athlete activist Riley Gaines.

Biles, an 11-time Olympic medalist and the most decorated gymnast of all-time, initially responded to a post by Gaines on the social media platform X after Gaines called a player on a Minnesota high school softball team “a boy.” Biles wrote that Gaines was “truly sick” and a “straight up sore loser,” comments Biles later retracted.

Biles wrote that the current system in sports doesn’t adequately address the balance between competitive equity and inclusivity and the discussion of the topic can lead to “frustration and heated exchanges.”

“It didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley,” Biles wrote.

Biles clarified that her main objection was that Gaines opted to single out an underage athlete, when that athlete has no control over what Biles called a “flawed system.”

“I believe sports organizations have a responsibility to come up with rules supporting inclusion while maintaining fair competition,” Biles posted. “We all want a future for sport that is fair, inclusive, and respectful.”

Simone Biles, you’re a gymnastics icon. As a former competitive gymnast and a gymnastics coach in southern New Hampshire to young girls, I see you as a beacon of brilliance who has soared to unimaginable heights.

But your latest words? They’re a gut-punch, a betrayal of everything you’ve stood for, as you now seem hell-bent on twisting yourself into knots with mental gymnastics that leave us all reeling.

You’ve carved out a legacy in women’s sports, lifted by the fierce, unyielding women who fought for your place on that pedestal. Yet, in one reckless, self-serving rant, you’re ready to yank that ladder away from the wide-eyed girls who idolize you, crushing their dreams of ever standing where you do. How could you?

This isn’t just a misstep; it’s a catastrophic fall, more humiliating than any tumble you’ve ever taken. You, who’ve faced body shaming and even starred in campaigns to fight it, had the audacity to mock another woman’s athletic frame, calling her “manly.” The hypocrisy burns. You know better than anyone why biology matters in sports. Gymnastics thrives on fairness—men on rings, women on beams—because physical differences are real.

Your triumphs exist because women’s sports have been fiercely protected. But now you’re waving that away like it’s nothing?

Picture this: A male gymnast, lean and powerful, sidesteps puberty with drugs and storms into women’s events, obliterating records and dreams—yours included. Would you still shrug off the issue? It’s infuriatingly easy to dismiss women’s fears when you’ve never faced that threat.

But those girls watching you? They might not be so lucky.

You call yourself a “girls’ girl,” yet where’s your fire for uplifting women? You preach inclusivity, but why is it women’s burden to make room for men who already have their own spaces? Why aren’t failed male athletes demanding trans categories? Because they’re too busy eyeing our podiums, and you’re holding the door open for them!

To call feminism in sports “bullying” is a slap in the face when men are literally stealing women’s titles and dignity. To say women’s rights activists make sports unsafe? That’s a grotesque lie. Women are the ones in danger, forced to face male competitors while so-called allies like you enable this travesty. It’s heartbreaking.

Maybe you’re lost in a fog of fame or chasing clout from the loudest voices. That’s your call. But don’t you dare tear down the women who fight tooth and nail for others, the ones with the courage you lack, sacrificing everything to protect fairness. They’re the real heroes, the ones who value every girl’s shot at glory over their own spotlight. They’re the role models we need, not the ones who bow to mediocrity and betrayal.

Simone, your silence would’ve been bad enough. But to actively fight against the women defending our future? That’s not just disappointing; it’s a disgrace. Wake up. Stand up. Be the champion for women you claim to be, before your legacy becomes a cautionary tale of what happens when greatness turns its back on its own.

Gaines’ extensive history of attacking transgender (and cisgender) women in sports led Biles to call her a “bully” in an X post.

In June 2025, gymnast and 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles was suspended from Team USA over online comments she made to former college swimmer and anti-transgender activist Riley Gaines.

In June 2025, a rumor appeared on Facebook that gymnast Simone Biles, the 11-time Olympic medalist, had been suspended from competing for Team USA over comments she made online to Riley Gaines, the anti-transgender activist and former college swimmer.

Some readers seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. However, there was no evidence that Biles had faced any repercussions over her response to Gaines.

Rather, the rumor about Biles and Gaines originated with America’s Last Line of Defense — a network of social media pages and websites that describes its output as being humorous or satirical in nature. The America’s Last Line of Defense Facebook page bio states:

The fictional story spread following real comments the two exchanged on X.

Gaines posted a photo of the Class AAAA Minnesota high school softball state championship team with the caption “Comments off lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy.”

Biles responded, calling Gaines “truly sick,” and a “sore loser” (Gaines tied for fifth place with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA championships). She said Gaines should try to support the trans community or find a way to make sports more inclusive. “But instead … You bully them,” she said. “One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!”

Simone Biles

Biles later posted a follow-up, telling Gaines to “bully someone [her] own size, which would ironically be a male.” (Biles is 4 feet, 8 inches tall).

Biles took a public stance supporting transgender athletes

A heated online debate has erupted this week as 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles took a public stance supporting transgender athletes, drawing fierce backlash from former ESPN anchor Sage Steele.

The controversy began after Biles criticized Riley Gaines over comments the latter made about a transgender softball player competing in a Minnesota high school league.

The firestorm began when Gaines posted a comment on X about a transgender teenager named Marissa Rothenberger, who helped lead her high school softball team to a championship win.

Rothenberger, who began her gender transition at age nine, had been approved to play under Minnesota rules after undergoing a formal review process.

Gaines responded to the team’s celebratory post, writing: “Comments off lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy.”

Biles swiftly clapped back at Gaines, accusing her of bullying and undermining transgender inclusion in sports.

“@Riley_Gaines You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!! But instead… You bully them… One thing’s for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!” Biles wrote.

Sage Steele fires back

Not long after Biles‘ tweet, conservative sports commentator Sage Steele fired back in defense of GainesSteele, who left ESPN in 2023 following a high-profile legal battle, strongly criticized Biles for attacking a fellow female athlete and dismissed her comments as out of touch.

“Easy to say this, Simone Biles, when you only had to compete against fellow women. Every one of your Olympic medals came competing against fellow women,” Steele tweeted on Friday. “Riley Gaines was not only forced to compete against a man, but forced to share a locker room with a man. THAT is SICK.

“Shocked and disappointed that you’d attack another woman who has done nothing but uplift other women,” she wrote. “If YOU think it makes sense to create a league for trans people, go for it! Use that huge platform of yours! But to attack Riley for what she has done for little girls who want to be the next Simone Biles is……..sick.”

Simone Biles, the iconic American gymnast who has dominated the Summer Olympics for roughly a decade, is feuding with former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines.

Gaines, who swam at the University of Kentucky, once finished behind former Penn swimmer Lia Thomas, who is transgender, in a race. She has since become an outspoken influencer on the right, speaking out against transgender athletes in women’s sports.

Over the weekend, Biles called her out.

“You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!! But instead… You bully them… One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!” she wrote.

Gaines has since clapped back.

“This is actually so disappointing. It’s not my job or the job of any woman to figure out how to include men in our spaces. You can uplift men stealing championships in women’s sports with YOUR platform. Men don’t belong in women’s sports and I say that with my full chest,” she wrote.

Since then, a 2017 tweet from Biles has surfaced, in which she admits that men shouldn’t be competing in women’s sports.

“ahhhh good thing guys don’t compete against girls or he’d take all the gold medals !!” she wrote.

Unsurprisingly, those who are supporting Gaines in the feud are taking this tweet and running with it.

“Oop don’t you hate it when your past self completely undermines your current nonsensical argument? How has 2025 Simone reconciled with the fact 2017 Simone was a ‘truly sick bully’ by her own standard?” one fan wrote.

“How long until she deletes this,” another fan wrote.

“I agree with Simone. Guys don’t belong in girls sports,” one fan added.

“The internet is forever, Simone,” one fan added.

Riley Gaines appears to unearth old tweet by ‘truly sick bully’ Simone Biles that ‘undermines nonsensical’ trans feud

Simone Biles and Riley Gaines engaged in a feud on social media over trans women

SWIMMER Riley Gaines hit back at Simone Biles in their feud over transgender athletes.

Gaines, 25, is an activist campaigning against the participation of trans women in female sports.

Biles once agreed that men would dominate women’s sports. So why is she mocking Riley Gaines for saying the same thing now?

Old tweets have a way of biting you in the butt sometimes — just ask Simone Biles.

In the latest chapter of her public feud with OutKick’s own Riley Gaines, Biles is now being called out for a tweet she posted back in October 2017. And it’s not a great look.

The post, which was dug up and re-shared by Gaines, shows the star Olympic gymnast responding to a now-deactivated account with the message: “ahhhh good thing guys don’t compete against girls or he’d take all the gold medals !!”

Gaines wasted no time pointing out the irony, re-posting Biles’ old tweet and writing: “Oop don’t you hate it when your past self completely undermines your current nonsensical argument? How has 2025 Simone reconciled with the fact 2017 Simone was a ‘truly sick bully’ by her own standard?”

For anyone who missed the context: the beef between these two athletes began after Gaines criticized the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) for allowing a trans-identifying male athlete to compete — and win — a girls’ softball state championship. Biles jumped in, attacking Gaines personally, calling her a “sore loser,” “truly sick,” and suggesting she “bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.”

The insults drew backlash online, especially Biles’ decision to body-shame another female athlete while claiming to champion “inclusion.”

But now the criticism is heating up — not just over what Biles said in 2025, but what she clearly believed in 2017.

To be fair, the tweet Biles was responding to back then came from an account that’s since been deactivated, so we don’t know exactly whom or what she was referencing. But even without full context, the sentiment is crystal clear: male athletes have a competitive advantage over female athletes.

And, Simone, we couldn’t agree more.
